Mechanical design with functional simplicity

It is easy to make a simple problem difficult, however making a difficult problem simple is a different story. My designs distinguish themselves by keeping it as simple as possible. The less components, the less chance of something failing. In my experience, a good mechanical design means less difficulties implementing the electronics and software. I have seen enough examples of shortcomingsĀ in mechanical designs that were solved by adding electrical components or extra software. Software and electronics should complement the mechanics, not the other way around.
